Legal & Licensing

The following information applies to all services provided by Andy Warr under Sound Matters and Voiceover Services, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

When Licensing Applies

Licensing applies when your project includes original creative performance—such as voiceover, custom music production, or sound design.

If we’re working with content you already own (e.g. podcast editing, dialogue cleanup, or audio repair), no license is needed. In those cases, you retain full ownership of your original material, and we act purely as a technical service provider.

Licensing Terms

Unless otherwise specified:

  • All voiceover, music, or sound design work is licensed for the agreed-upon usage (e.g. podcast, audiobook, course, video).

  • Licensing is non-exclusive and non-transferable, unless a custom agreement is made.

  • For resale, paid advertising, or mass distribution, please inquire about a custom license.

Licenses are granted explicitly in your proposal, confirmation email, or intake form—most projects default to a Commercial License (see below).

Ownership & Rights

You retain full rights to the final deliverables upon payment and delivery, within the scope of the granted license.

We retain rights to showcase short excerpts of completed work in our portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing.

Licensing Tiers

Most projects fall under the Commercial License, which covers typical uses like podcasts, online videos, client-facing content, or courses.

If your project involves mass distribution, paid advertising, or needs exclusive rights, a different license may be required. See the overview below:

  • Standard License — For personal, editorial, or internal use

  • Commercial License (default) — For monetized or client-facing content

  • Extended Commercial License — For mass distribution, paid ads, or platforms with >100k reach

  • Buyout/Exclusive License — Full rights transfer; custom quote required

All licenses are granted in writing as part of your project proposal, confirmation email, or intake form.

Questions about licensing? Feel free to reach out.

Personal vs. Commercial Use

  • Personal use includes projects not monetized, shared privately, or used internally.

  • Commercial use includes any publicly distributed or monetized content, including courses, books, promotional videos, business podcasts, and ads.

Revisions & Cancellations

Most jobs include 1 round of light revisions at no charge.

Major changes (e.g., script rewrites after recording) may incur a fair additional fee.

For platform-based work, cancellations and revisions follow the respective terms of service for that platform.

Privacy Policy (GDPR/CCPA)

  • We do not collect or share personal data unless you submit it directly (e.g., via email or intake form).

  • We do not track users or store personal information through this site.

  • Any data shared with Sound Matters (scripts, names, company info) is used only for project communication and delivery.

You may request deletion of any personal data at any time.

Disclaimers

  • We aim to deliver professional-grade audio, but compatibility with all playback systems or third-party platforms is not guaranteed.

  • We reserve the right to decline projects for ethical, personal, or artistic reasons.
